We start on the edge of the park with a few deer stirring in the early dawn light by a collection of traditional Japanese inns. From there we walk down to a small pond with a picturesque pavilion, trees with brilliant red foliage, and a gathering of photographers waiting for the sunrise over the pond. This is just the first taste of autumn color and deer, as we make our way through a large grassy meadow with more deer and photographers, before breaking away from the crowds by the iconic Todaiji Temple and its surrounding structures. It is a beautiful morning in a beautiful location, I hope you enjoy it and the season is treating you well.
