Lifting the covers of the #secretgarage 2 min Walking in dawn moonlight in the waves along Elephant Rock Beach on Tanegashima Island off the coast of Kagoshima, Japan. My ferry from Yakushima back to Kagoshima was cancelled so I ended up spending almost a week on Tanegashima while waiting to secure passage back to the mainland. It gave me a chance to explore the island at a very relaxed pace. The beach by Elephant Rock was my favorite, with the interesting geologic formations and inviting water. It is also a popular surf spot, though I didn't see any big waves when I was there. This morning a near-full moon happened to be out at dawn, making for some nice reflections in the water at blue hour.
