Inside, narrow medieval lanes climb past Romanesque churches, including Santa Maria Maggiore with its celebrated Pinturicchio frescoes in the Baglioni Chapel. The town is best known for the Infiorate di Spello, the Corpus Christi flower festival when residents carpet the streets with intricate pictures made entirely of flower petals.
