Some houses are built by following a plan, but Nik’s house is built by following a vision for seven years. What begins as a personal project in the forest slowly becomes a long experiment in patience, craft, and imagination, where every season adds something new to the structure and every decision must respect time, weather, budget, and the materials available around him. As you’ll see, this is not a quick cabin build, but a project that grows step by step, year after year, through persistence and creativity. Because what makes Nik’s work remarkable is not only the scale of the construction, but the way he looks at materials. A log is not just a log. A root is not just waste. A curved branch, an irregular board, a stone, a leftover piece of timber, or a natural defect in the wood can become part of the house if it has character and purpose. Instead of relying on standard solutions, he keeps searching for ways to make the building more personal, more connected to the forest, and more unmistakably his own. Over the course of seven years, the project will become a record of how creativity can stretch a limited budget, how planning can keep a dream alive across changing seasons, and how a builder’s imagination can transform raw natural materials into architecture.
