Quiet morning walks on the Nakahechi section of the Kumano Kodo in Wakayama, Japan. The entire walk from Yunomine Onsen to Echizen-toge Pass took a little over 10 hours over two mornings. In this video I've cut it down a bit to give just a taste of the trail. Early November, 2025 Map: https://ambientexploration.com/blogs/routes/the-kumano-kodo-yunomine-onsen-to-nachi-falls-wakayama After reaching Echizen-toge Pass, I continued on walking another few hours to Nachi Falls and its shrine and temples, which is often a destination for hikers on the Nakahechi route. I decided not to film, as the trail was getting more crowded, and I had a feeling Nachi would be overrun by the time I got there...and indeed it was.
