NVIDIA just showcased an updated look at the upcoming DLSS 5 following the backlash from its initial reveal. This new footage has been provided by Nvidia, captured directly from SIGGRAPH 2026 and edited by us to showcase what's changed. At SIGGRAPH 2026, NVIDIA addressed community concerns regarding artistic intent and aggressive neural overrides by introducing a more modular framework for DLSS 5. Instead of a one-size-fits-all filter, developers now have access to three selectable AI models with varying parameter sizes and intensity levels, alongside customizable sliders for structural and lighting intensity. To protect character models and specific visual elements from unwanted AI artifacts, developers can mask out individual game assets.
