YouTube has removed the dislike button from Shorts 👀
Creators may have to look a little deeper to understand what their audience actually thinks about their content.
Instead of relying on likes vs. dislikes, you’ll want to pay closer attention to:
Swipe-away percentage — are people leaving immediately?
Average view duration — are they actually sticking around?
Retention curve — where are people dropping off?
Because on Shorts, the clearest feedback isn’t always what people say…
It’s what they do.
If viewers keep watching, rewatching, and making it to the end, that’s a strong signal your Short is working.
But if they swipe away in the first second, that tells you everything you need to know.
