God Tier Stabilization 1 dk AD/ Werbung Nine years ago, when I stopped doing wedding photography to stay home with my daughter, I honestly thought that chapter of my life was over. One year passed, then another, and somehow nine years went by. To be honest, I didn’t really miss photographing weddings. What I like, without quite realising it, was having a camera with me and looking at everyday things through it. When I look through old photographs now, it’s usually not the big occasions I stop at. It’s the pictures that weren’t really meant to be anything. My daughter playing. A corner of our home. Something growing in the garden. A morning that felt completely ordinary at the time. I’ve been enjoying using @Hasselblad X2D II 100C over the past six months. I'm not the most technical person when it comes to cameras, so I love the feeling of looking through the viewfinder, seeing something beautiful, and knowing that the camera is able to capture it exact how I experienced it. Modern life can feel very full these past few years. There is always something that needs doing, someone who needs you, somewhere you need to be. Days can pass without you really noticing them, and then suddenly you look back and realise how much has changed. The quiet parts of a day that don’t seem important when you’re living them, but are really the truest fabric of life. I think that’s what I’ve come back to with photography -making room for the ordinary to be remembered.
