Today we archive a new game that is inspired by the liminal space genre and some of the visuals from the popular Backrooms series. In Subliminal we take a journey into our own mind as our subconscious guides us through different zones while solving puzzles. The narrator has a calm, deep voice that is pleasant to listen to although the story itself is a bit abstract and difficult to follow. The game has gotten a lot of criticism over these last few days and though I don't think the game is THAT bad, I do have to say that the highlight are the zones that were present in the demo. The graphics are stunning and the living room and waterpark are gorgeous to look at and traverse. The later levels unfortunately are often narrow hallways or mazes in bouncy castles or playgrounds. The puzzles were fine, though from what I understand they have been updated and made easier in this version. I thought that the puzzles involving the light switches was fun, though it did outlast its welcome by the end and I would have enjoyed other types of puzzles. There are some really effective scares too since they are used sparingly. Overall I think the game is fine. It has a lot of potential to be so much more and I hope that with episode 2 we will see that potential from the talented developers. #subliminal #liminalspace #backrooms #horrorgames
