Check out the first gameplay preview of Doom The Dark Ages Revelations, the upcoming campaign expansion launching on July 7 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This new demo gameplay footage has been provided by Bethesda and edited by us. This first look showcases several new gameplay sequences from the Slayer's next chapter, including the new Chain Spear, a weapon that adds greater mobility and supports a faster, more aggressive combat style. The expansion also introduces new demons, environmental puzzles, hidden secrets, and the free Ripatorium 3.0 update. Created by id Software, the original Wolfenstein and Quake developers and creators of the first person shooter genre. This new entry will remind you of Halo in hell! 📝 SUMMARY This footage provides a first look at the gameplay for Doom The Dark Ages Revelations, an upcoming campaign expansion releasing on July 7 for PC and consoles. The expansion introduces a high-mobility Chain Spear weapon, new demons, environmental puzzles, and a free Ripatorium 3.0 update. ✒️ DESCRIPTION After the events of the main campaign, the Slayer becomes trapped in a frozen realm where a new threat awaits. Revelations continues the story with a campaign that introduces the Chain Spear, a new combat and traversal tool, alongside six handcrafted levels, new demons and bosses, environmental puzzles, hidden secrets, and a stronger focus on classic linear level design. 💥 GAMEPLAY FEATURES AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS - The Chain Spear (New Left-Hand Tool): Early in the campaign, the Slayer's shield breaks, forcing us to master the new Chain Spear. While it retains the defensive and parrying "left-hand logic" of the base game, it completely changes the flow of combat by adding staggering verticality and speed making the tanky Slayer feel like a monster truck with a jet engine. This new movement tech is a total game-changer, allowing us to grapple toward enemies and execute an "Orbit" maneuver to circle demons mid-air while raining down gunfire. - Metroidvania Exploration & Campaign Length: The 6 handcrafted levels (consisting of 5 campaign missions and a purgatory hub) shift toward a Metroidvania-style design with a deep emphasis on hidden secrets, alternate routes, and complex environmental puzzles. We are looking at an impressive 10 to 12 hours of total playtime, nearly doubling the length of DOOM Eternal's expansions. The inclusion of classic secret levels and a heavy focus on returning to maps with newly unlocked abilities makes exploration highly rewarding. - New Roster of Demons & Advanced AI: Revelations introduces a faster, far more aggressive lineup of enemies specifically designed to counter the Slayer's new mobility. We will have to deal with tougher boss fights, explosive variants of existing monsters, and a swift new Wizard enemy archetype that demands quick reflexes. - Ripatorium 3.0 & Endgame Content: Launching as a free update for all players, Ripatorium 3.0 introduces deep challenge customization, saved presets, and improved passcode generation.
