Gemini / Flow and Veo were used for the visuals. ElevenLabs was used for the Voice Over and Dialog Refinement. Suno for the music. What happens when a childhood mistake costs you 15 years of your life? Homeward follows Arri, a young man who accidentally launches himself into deep space on a glitchy Hercules-Series hauler with no way out. For 15 years, his only companion is the robotic AI hover bot with him. When they finally escape, he doesn't land where or when he expected. But, he makes new friends along the way who will help him continue the journey. Set between a futuristic deep space and Earth two hundred years in the future, this is a story about agency, unintended consequences, and the irony of fate. Sometimes life puts you on a path completely different from what you planned. The only choice is to steer the ship and see where you land. Production Notes: This 10-minute short film was produced using Google's Veo3 on Flow by Google. Gemini for script help / prompt help / image generation and story pivots. ElevenLabs for voice over and dialog fixes. And Suno for the music. It took about 2 full months to make by myself with the tools outlined above. I scrapped a version of it which was too wordy and wanted to focus on the fun / adventure and action of it. I hope you enjoy! Would love to get your feedback. I'm now working on a full movie script for this with the hopes to get it produced for the big screen. What do we think - Dev Patel for the main character Arri? Cedric the Entertainer as Bounty the Ogre? Or John Goodman? Both great actors.
