Set within a rain-soaked sand plain rests a low, continuous structure cataloged as Defect: 4, a horizon-aligned monolith with no visible segmentation or entry, its matte surface interrupted only by a single band of contained light stretching across its length. The ground remains unnaturally stable as rainfall settles without pooling, and the light shifts slowly in position rather than intensity, as if being redistributed rather than produced. Faint beams of light drift outward from its surface in slow, thread-like motions, as if contact with the air triggers a gradual release of energy. A low, directionless presence can be felt near the structure, constant and unmoving. With no measurable output, OSF teams classified it as a defect, the fourth recorded deviation. Internal notes reference The Pale Null (OSF-085), suggesting it was neither accepted nor removed, but left in a stable, unresolved state. It does not degrade or respond, and the designation has not been revised.
