4 ways to tell a great story 6 دقیقه Welcome to a new chapter of Retrofutura. Today we board a maharaja’s private fleet for a full day journey through the Saffron Empire. This is a steampunk India that, in our timeline, was never conquered. Instead, it developed its own retro-futuristic technology where science fiction meets ancient tradition. We follow a traveler in a ceremonial sari returning to her home kingdom after a long absence. While she looks out the window with the quiet recognition of someone coming home, we experience this world for the first time. The Journey of Light The voyage begins at noon at a palace-station made of carved marble. Maroon and brass locomotives stand ready while bronze automatons handle the luggage and majestic vimanas rise above the domes. As the train departs, the landscape unfolds with monumental stone observatories and viaducts stretching over the water. Looking at the sky, you will see fleets of lotus-shaped airships crossing the clouds. On the ground, ceremonial elephants walk near the tracks and a distant tiger watches the train pass by. Inside the carriage, the atmosphere is a of calm and wonder. Light filters through the latticework onto the silk brocade. You will witness the ritual of tea served by an automaton and a musician playing on the roof of the train as the sun begins to set. Even our dear Mr. Mustache is there, enjoying a nap in his armchair. The entire crossing is a journey of light. We move from the saturated colors of midday to the golden afternoon, then to amber, and finally to the first indigo of dusk. When twilight falls, the home city-palace appears in the distance, glowing from within and reflected in the water. The traveler finally steps onto the platform to meet her family. She hasn't just reached a place; she has reached her people. A Refuge in Motion In the Saffron Empire, all technology is serves, receives, and floats in calm. There is no tension and no dystopia. This is a refuge where the only crescendo is one of beauty.
