How Big Pork takes money from small farmers — then uses it to lobby against them

Every time you buy bacon, ribs, or pork chops, some of that money may ultimately help fund one of Big Pork’s most powerful lobbying groups.
A new analysis of financial documents obtained by Vox found that since the early 2000s, the National Pork Board — which legally can’t use its funds for lobbying — has moved $66 million into the National Pork Producers Council, a lobbying organization.
